SARKA... SBC RIDER OF THE MONTH

I heard word of this girl Sarka from Czech who was stomping backside rodeos. I’ve seen girls throughout the years huck this trick but when I witnessed Sarka stomp one at this years Canadian Open I was in awe.

Not only did she stomp it she did with smoothness and style. I had to find out more about this girl as I witnessed her riding throughout the season as a standout at events whether she was stomping smooth Switch B/S 540’s or B/S 720’s in slope, huge airs in the pipe, or mean B/S 540 indy’s on the QP this girl did it all with style, power, and amplitude. After a succesful first season competing on the international level Sarka was recently signed by Volcom. Besides her amazing skills on a snowboard she’s a super fun and happy girl that’s stoked to travel around, meet other riders, ride different locations and have a good time. I’ve seen Sarka kill it in qualifiers but she hasn’t quite figured out the mental side of being consistent in the finals but at only 19 she has plenty of time to figure it out and it wont be long till she is dominating the contest scene at not only one but various events. What are your plans for the month?

I am gonna shoot with Flow in Argentina. I can’t wait for powder! This year I will graduate and I have to go to school and do some exams.

What is something you have learned this month?

I did some new tricks in the pipe I am stoked on.

Where is the craziest place snowboarding has taken you?

Korea, it so funny. Korean people have to work all day and in the resort where It was. Lift and music goes 24hours and there is many people riding in the middle of night, that’s crazy you can wake up at anytime and go ride!

Who is your favorite person to travel with?

My boyfriend, is always cool to travel together and I like to travel with Austrians girls, it is sooooo much fun!

How do you entertain yourself on long flights?

I try to sleep as long as possible but after few hours I am tired from sleeping and I start
to watch some movies and I always have some book that I need to read for my school
but I hate long flights and you can die and you can’t do anything with that.

What is one item you will not go snowboarding without?

Ipod. I cant ride without music.

What is your favorite apres shred meal?

After riding doesn’t matter what it is i would eat everything but I just don’t like junk food.

Aside from snowboarding how do you stay strong and healthy?

Healthy food and a lot of stretching.

What is something the average person doesn't know about pro snowboarding?

That it is hard work and you have to ride in weather which you would never even go out in and sometimes you have to ride when you are super tired and you can get hurt
but when you are doing it you don’t think of it so much.

What is one thing people should know about you?

I am not playing any games, not cheating on anyone, and I like sleep and going for beer with friends.

Madagascar 2

Torah Bright

Who is currently raising the bar in women's snowboarding?

It is hard to say there is few girls who push that but we have to do more it is not enough!

If you could give one piece of advice to women, snowboarders or not,what would it be?

Don’t be a pussy thats all you need to know.
